The Paideia Flight Plan is designed to help scholars graduate high school with an Associateโs Degree at no cost, giving them a head start in college and career success.
To gain admission to the Paideia Flight Plan, scholars must meet all eligibility requirements and maintain academic excellence throughout their participation. Scholars are expected to uphold a strong academic standing; those who fail college courses or whose GPA drops below 3.0 will be placed on academic probation for one semester. During this probationary period, they must reapply to the program to regain full participation.
By adhering to these rigorous standards, we ensure academic excellence and set scholars up for long-term success. Below is a list of all eligibility requirements:

๐ Step-by-Step Guide to Earning Your Degree
Follow this structured timeline to stay on track toward earning your Associateโs Degree while in high school.
- Transition into high school and build strong time management and study skills.
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, strong attendance, and positive behavior.
- Meet with a school counselor to discuss career and academic plans.
- Apply for SMCC admission, set up a Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID).
- Take a placement test (if required) and submit parental/guardian consent.
- Enroll in entry-level college courses, such as:
- HUM292 โ The Art of Storytelling
- FYE103 โ Exploration of College, Career, and Personal Success
- SPA101/SPA102 โ Elementary Spanish I & II
- ENG101 โ First-Year Composition
- CRE101 โ Critical Reading & Thinking
- Continue building on foundational experiences and develop greater self-direction.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA at Paideia and SMCC to stay in the Concurrent Enrollment Program.
- Meet with an SMCC academic counselor to plan coursework for the second semester.
- New scholars joining in 10th grade must meet concurrent enrollment eligibility requirements.
- Complete enrollment forms at the end of Freshman Year to guarantee course placement.
- Ramp up college planning with standardized test prep, campus visits, and challenging coursework.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA at Paideia and SMCC.
- Meet with an SMCC academic counselor to finalize college course selections.
- New scholars entering in 11th grade must meet concurrent enrollment eligibility requirements.
- Complete enrollment forms at the end of Sophomore Year to guarantee course placement.
- Prepare for college applications, scholarships, and career decisions.
- Celebrate accomplishments while finalizing college and career plans.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA at Paideia and SMCC.
- New scholars enrolling in 12th grade must meet concurrent enrollment eligibility requirements.
- Meet with an SMCC academic counselor to ensure coursework aligns with post-graduation goals.
- Complete enrollment forms at the end of Junior Year to guarantee course placement.

- General AA (Liberal Arts): Prepares students for social sciences, humanities, or education majors at a 4-year university.
- Elementary Education: Prepares students for teaching careers in Early Childhood, Multicultural/Multilingual, or Special Education.
- Fine Arts: Focus on Art, Dance, Music, Theatre, or Musical Theatre for future BFA transfer programs.
- Biology: Prepares students for pre-med, research, or biological sciences programs.
- Computer Science: Focus on programming, software development, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Engineering: Foundational coursework in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- Business Administration: Prepares students for management, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
- Accounting & Finance: Ideal for careers in financial planning, corporate finance, and bookkeeping.
- Cybersecurity: Train in network security, ethical hacking, and system protection.
- Graphic Design: Build a portfolio in digital design, branding, and multimedia.
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician): Hands-on training in emergency medical response and first aid.
